David Warlick Presents at Laptop Institute
I have heard David Warlick present his Web 2.0 session at least 3 times now and I ALWAYS walk away with something new to try, (well, perhaps to attempt) and always with some new tool that will make me even more informed about Tech -- and not just tech, but life in general.
He spent time today discussing WikiPedia -- which is always a fun topic when you have librarians in the audience -- but David seems to have a talent of juggling all types of questions regardless of the content.
He spent time with Blogging -- which suprising enough, is still a new topic to some but then he went into RSS and the energy of the room changed dramatically. You could hear fingers typing as fast as they can. (I don't know how David does it -- but he can zoom into his screen so you can see the url so clearly -- I am going to have to find out HOW he does that.) And you could also hear a great deal of undertones discussing HOW to use this tool -- both personally and professionally.
I use Bloglines but not to the extent that I really TRULY need to be using it. It was good to sit through this class again to be reminded of the power of RSS. To be fed topical, current information is such an opportunity and I need to take more advantage of it.
David's Keynote this morning was well-received as well. The audience was pretty crowded which is pretty good for an early morning keynote. It was a new session I had NOT heard and the notes can be found HERE. Check the names that are BLUE -- those are the posters of information.
Today has been a good day at the Lausanne Laptop. I have only attended a couple sessions - one on collaborative learning and the new Windows Vista -- which will have an ENTIRE blog enty on its own. Tonight will be a fun night of group sharing and fun. Lunch was Corky's BBQ. Ahhh -- life is good in Tennessee.
