Laptop Institute -- Winding Down

Well, in about 2 hours, the Laptop Institute 2006 will be over -- and what a week it has been.

I truly enjoy chatting at this conference -- it isn't a HIGH techie as NECC and there are a lot of independent (meaning private Christian or college prep) schools so politics is NOT a big issue. State funding is not an issue so no one is really mad at the government. And that is nice.

Yesterday, I presented Inspiration in the BIG keynote room to about 100 people -- WHAT FUN!! I think it went well. This morning I presented InspireData to about 40 people and it was a blast. We had some good conversation -- we totally took apart the software -- and with just a couple of concerns (it is a version 1.0) there was a group consensus that it was a pretty good software. The people in this class were SUPERB!! (grins)

Yesterday, we drove to Mississippi for dinner and I had catfish, green beans, hushpuppies, and SWEET TEA. Today we are going to Lulu's and then I think I might have a bit of down time. Gail has been great taking me around Memphis -- but I think I just might want to crash for a bit. And then tomorrow -- early in the A.M., I fly home.

I shall miss Tennessee -- I love the trees, the winding roads, the clean air, but most of all -- I love the traditions and the roots that the people seem to have here. I have met some remarkable people -- I have memories -- my life has been touched.

All in all -- its been a good conference.
